Andre de Beer: He was born in 1933 in Potchefstroom. His studies include a BA degree and MA degree in Fine Arts. From 1964 - 1970 he was Chairperson of the National Art Society of South Africa and also a member of the Curatorium of the Pretoria Art Museum. He also art lecturer, senior lecturer, Head of the Art Departement and Vice-Rector at Pretoria College of Education. He became a full-time painter in 1983. He is a painter of landscapes, portraits, still life, seascapes, genres and figures. He works in oils, watercolour, ink, pencil, charcoal and pastel. His work can be found in many private art collections, internationally.
