Audrey Rudnick:

Well known artist and sculptress, Audrey Rudnick, was born in Durban, South Africa and educated in Zambia. She later attended the Johannesburg School of Art. Audrey always knew she wanted to be an artist and her undenaible talents was noticed from an early age.

After school, Audrey travelled through Europe for six years, painting and sketching. She also spend some time in SriLanka designing and making batiks, but it was wile she was spending time in Paris that she was inspired to sculpt and then to combine the mediums of painting and sculpture.

Audrey's unique design of the "Pod People" reached a selective audience and has since created a strong following across the world. Her portfolio consists out of a violinist, flutist, dancer, trumpetplayer, birdtree, shhh-tree, mask and several ethnic woman. This unique piece of art is created from resin and wood and flows into palmpod to round off this very elegant looking sculpture.

"I mainly paint and sculpture woman because I think they are beautiful and frankly, I find them pleasing to work with. Woman have lovely curves and seem to combine both softness and strenght, qualities I love to portray in my work," Audrey says.

Audrey derives a lot of inspiration from the Bible, particulary the books of Proverbs and Psalms. She thanks the Lord Jesus Christ for her talent and creative abilities.
