Casey van der Leek: Casey van der Leek is a dynamic, self-taught artist working in oil, watercolour, pencil and red chalk. Although better known for his Cape landscapes, he is equally adept at seascapes and wildlife. He has a deep love for the "Big Blue" and particulary the loneliness of a windswept coastline battered by a stormy sea. The treacherous coast around Cape Point, where the sea is master, has always been the source of his favoured subject matter. The oil painting"West Coast Fog, Yzterfontein" is also further expression of his fascination with the sea and this part of the world.
