Iwan: He was born on 29 May 1965 and grew up in Bloemfontein in the Free State, matriculated in 1983 in Sentraal High School and followed a professional career in Agricultural research. He took up oil painting as a hobby in 1995 and after reicving a Ph.D in Plant Genetics in 2002, He resumed his art career by attending informal art courses.He works from his home studio and focus on portraiture. He also experiments with portrait sculpture in cement and cretestone. During 2003 He introduced his art to the public and local art galleries.
