Marlien van Heerdent: Marlien was born in 1969 as the youngest of five children. She grew up in the Carolina district, with the love of her parents, Pedrie and Koks Oosthuizen. She studied Home Economics at the University of Pretoria. She then lectured at UP in National fashion academy in fashion design. In 1992 Marlien got married to Manie van Heerden, he is the great inspiration in her life. She has two daughters, Annette (4) and Esmarie (2). Part time she studied art with different mediums from different artists. In 1997 she started painting full time. She is inspired by people, their passions, loyalty, aggression and love. She also paints for private clients. Every painting is a prayer to God.
