Mozzie Wouters:
One of six children, Mozzie Wouters was born in Breda, Holland in 1944. After his family emigrated to present-day Zimbabwe in 1957, Mozzie ultimately settled in Durban, South Africa, in 1967. Mozzie's obvious Dutch creativity manifested itself early in many ways, yet the most expressive form was to be a 40 year entrepreneurial business career. Upon his retirement in 2006, Mozzie excitedly gave himself permission to unshackle his undying passion for art and now focuses fully on his first love.
Having tried his hand at a variety of art forms during his younger years, Mozzie happily settled on oils using palette knife and brush as the medium to best convey his impressions of a variety of subjects, especially landscapes. Armed with both the guidance of a good dose of formal art classes and his apparently endless creative energy, Mozzie can now be found working busily in his studio at home in Southbroom, KZN.
Mozzie's work is exhibited at various galleries in Durban, on KZN's South Coast, in Dullstroom and at Hartebeespoort Dam. |
